Introduction
Stronghold Safety’s mission is to provide a safer and more productive industrial workplace by doing risk assessment audits and implementing solutions to protect whats most important to your business. Stronghold Safety has been around over 15 years and has over a 100 years of combined safety experience and a company history deeply rooted in industrial production. Stronghold helps businesses protect what's most important before risk turns into injury, loss of productivity, or worse.
The Challenge
Stronghold Safety’s website utilized BigCommerce + B2B along with an experimental and unstable headless theme. Due to the challenges headless environments present combined with an unstable theme their customers were often faced with broken features like log in and checkout issues as well as marketing and analytics often missing key events and data. This was negatively affecting their day-to-day operations and sales as well as their reputation.
The Solution
We were able to take over the development of the headless theme and fix the log in and checkout issues and get the site to a stable point while we collaborated with the client about potential long-term solutions.
Together, we ultimately decided the best course of action was to migrate away from BigCommerce and headless theme to a more modern Magento 2 installation that provided a proven track record of stable critical features like customer log in and checkout. We also updated Stronghold Safety’s ability to handle more B2B features on the frontend as well as the admin panel while also improving the customer’s frontend experience by using the Hyvä theme. We implemented a custom sales history so customers could view their BigCommerce order history, new orders, and common B2B features like company accounts, quote requests, RMAs, and accounting software integrations.
Stronghold Safety was re-launched in early 2026 and are now enjoying the benefits of a stable and more reliable technology stack that gives them the freedom to focus on their business and assist other businesses in protecting that which is most important.
