The Challenge

The Midwest Higher Education Compact approached us to revamp their platform and bring it up to speed with modern web design standards. The primary users of the site were parents and students searching for schools and programs in the Midwest. Though it wasn't a large site, we wanted to ensure that every aspect of it was optimized for their needs. Our team recognized the importance of prioritizing the site's most crucial features to ensure a seamless user experience. We identified the homepage, which housed the primary search functionality, as the key component that needed the most attention. It was essential to make an excellent first impression and ensure that users could navigate it efficiently.

The Solution

With the right pain points identified we were able to execute on a new visual direction that elevated the site and brand. The resulting design was not only responsive but also met modern web design standards, making it easy to use and navigate.

Clear search fields and hover states play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless user experience. By providing clear and concise labels for search fields users can easily find the content they need. Additionally, hover states can provide visual cues to users on where they can click and what actions they can take.
